What you will do?

We are looking for volunteers: actor, designer, writer, musician, stage manager, steward, storyteller, technician. You are welcome to every stage of the process.

Workshop: 1 session

Story Matching: bring your story (real or family myth or gossip) to do with Brockley and the Cemetery, we’ll match you with one of FOBLC’s (Friends of Brockley and Ladywell Cemetery) historians to exchange stories.  Themes include stories about love, accidents, journey/travel, literary figures, gore, loss, redemption.

The Writing: We welcome monologues, songs and poems, to be included in the piece where possible.

The Rehearsal: Depending on how you’d like to participate the company will work together to devise, rehearse and prepare the piece for performance on Sunday 31st 7pm.

The Performance: At this stage we know we will have a central character- an estate agent taking our audience on a tour of a possible new housing development to be built in the Cemetery. As the agent and audience look at different sites, voices, songs, shadows and stories from the past emerge. The drama will unfold as we find it together as the Brockley Max Community Company.
